NEET UG Re-Test 2026: Free Bus Travel for Students in Delhi

The Delhi government has announced a significant relief measure for students appearing in the NEET UG 2026 re-examination. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated that all candidates taking the re-test on June 21 will be allowed to travel free of cost on Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses. Students will only need to show their valid admit card to avail of this facility. The decision has been taken to ensure that students do not face any transportation-related difficulties on such an important examination day. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta shared this announcement on social media platform X, highlighting that the initiative is aimed at supporting students and ensuring smooth access to examination centres across Delhi. The NEET UG 2026 re-examination has been scheduled for June 21 following serious concerns related to a paper leak controversy. The original examination, conducted on May 3, was cancelled by the National Testing Agency (NTA) after irregularities came to light. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is currently investigating the matter to determine the source and extent of the issue. In addition to Delhi, several other states have also taken similar steps to support NEET aspirants. The Bihar government has announced free travel for students in state transport buses on the exam day. Punjab has extended free travel on Punjab Roadways buses from June 20 to June 22, covering the exam day as well as surrounding dates to ensure smooth movement of candidates. Similarly, Haryana has declared free bus travel on Haryana Roadways buses for June 20 and June 21. These coordinated efforts by multiple state governments aim to reduce stress for students and ensure that transportation issues do not become a barrier in reaching exam centres on time. With lakhs of candidates expected to appear for the re-test, such measures are expected to provide considerable relief and logistical support. Education authorities and state administrations are working to ensure that the re-examination process is conducted smoothly and transparently this time. The focus remains on restoring confidence among students and maintaining fairness in one of the country’s most important medical entrance examinations.
