अनुशासनहीन पुलिसकर्मियों पर SSP का शिकंजा, 5 पर कार्रवाई
Jashpur: In a major move against indiscipline within the police department, Jashpur DIG and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr. Lal Umed Singh has taken strict departmental action against five police constables. The action comes after departmental investigations found them guilty of prolonged unauthorized absence, negligence in duty, and repeated violations of departmental discipline. Under Police Regulation 221(A), three constables—Santosh Kumar Ram, Nelson Tigga, and Ashok Kumar Ekka—have been dismissed from service. In addition, two other constables have received severe disciplinary penalties. Constable Iremius Kujur has been punished with a reduction equivalent to one annual increment with cumulative effect, while Bindeshwar Ram has been reduced to the minimum pay scale for one year. This penalty will also impact his future salary increments and pension benefits. According to the departmental inquiry, the three dismissed constables had a long history of unauthorized absences during their service careers and had previously faced disciplinary action multiple times. Despite repeated warnings and punishments, their conduct reportedly showed no improvement. Investigation records revealed that Santosh Kumar Ram, during his 13 years of service, remained absent without permission on 33 occasions for a total of 469 days. Nelson Tigga, over 17 years of service, was found absent 28 times for a cumulative period of 923 days. Similarly, Ashok Kumar Ekka, who served for 20 years, remained unauthorizedly absent on 30 occasions, totaling 1,151 days. Authorities stated that such repeated violations seriously affected departmental discipline and operational efficiency. SSP Dr. Lal Umed Singh emphasized that indiscipline, negligence, and arbitrary conduct would not be tolerated in the police force under any circumstances. He said the department is committed to maintaining professionalism, accountability, and public trust. The SSP further warned that strict action would continue against personnel who fail to fulfill their responsibilities or violate departmental rules. The action has sent a strong message across the police department that maintaining discipline and accountability remains a top priority. Officials believe such measures are necessary to improve the functioning and public image of the police force while ensuring that officers and staff perform their duties with dedication and responsibility. The department has reiterated its commitment to enforcing service rules strictly and taking prompt action against any employee found guilty of misconduct or repeated dereliction of duty.
