Janjgir-Champa: A major fire broke out at Padmini Multiplex in the Korwa Para area on Monday, creating panic among residents. The blaze quickly spread to Screen No. 1, causing extensive damage to the theater's infrastructure. Three fire engines rushed to the spot and launched an operation to control the flames. Police, administrative officials, and local residents assisted in the rescue efforts. A nearby nursing home was evacuated after smoke entered the building. According to reports, the screen, sound system, chairs, curtains, and false ceiling inside the multiplex were destroyed in the fire. The estimated loss is around ₹50–60 lakh.
