Raipur, June 30, 2026/ The Chhattisgarh government is promoting the use of nano DAP and nano urea to help farmers reduce cultivation costs, improve productivity and adopt environment-friendly farming practices, while ensuring the timely availability of fertilizers across the state. In view of the impact of global conditions on the availability of conventional chemical fertilizers, the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, is encouraging the use of nano fertilizers as a cost-effective alternative for farmers. The Agriculture Department is continuously monitoring the stocking and distribution of nano fertilizers through cooperative societies during the kharif season 2026. As of June 26, around 2.47 lakh bottles of nano DAP had been stocked across the state, of which more than 87,000 bottles had been distributed to farmers. Similarly, about 2.86 lakh bottles of nano urea has been stocked, with more than 1.14 lakh bottles already distributed. The remaining stock is available with cooperative societies to ensure an uninterrupted supply during the cropping season. The state government is also conducting awareness campaigns to encourage the scientific use of nano fertilizers. According to agricultural experts, nano DAP and nano urea are more effective than conventional solid chemical fertilizers, requiring smaller quantities while improving nutrient absorption by crops. Their use helps reduce input costs, enhance crop quality and productivity, and contributes to soil health and environmental conservation. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said the state government is committed to increasing farmers' income, reducing cultivation costs and making agriculture more profitable through modern technologies. He said the promotion of nano fertilizers is aimed at encouraging scientific farming practices that enable farmers to achieve better yields and higher incomes. The Agriculture Department has appealed to farmers to contact their nearest cooperative society or Agriculture Department officials for guidance on the scientific use of nano DAP and nano urea, and to adopt these modern fertilizers for more profitable and sustainable farming.
