Akshay Kumar’s Bhooth Bangla Inches Close to ₹200 Crore Worldwide on Day 13
Bhooth Bangla, starring Akshay Kumar and directed by Priyadarshan, continues its steady run at the box office as it completes 13 days in theatres. The horror-comedy, currently in its second week, is approaching a major milestone, narrowly missing the ₹200 crore mark in worldwide collections. After a modest boost in collections on its second Tuesday, the film saw a noticeable drop on Day 13 (second Wednesday). According to reports, it earned ₹3.25 crore on that day across 8,823 shows in India, marking a decline of over 25% compared to the previous day. Despite this dip, the film’s overall performance remains stable. In its first week, the movie collected ₹84.40 crore (India net). During its second weekend, it showed growth, earning ₹5.75 crore on Friday, ₹10.75 crore on Saturday, and ₹12.50 crore on Sunday. However, weekday collections slowed down again, with ₹3.65 crore on Monday, ₹4.35 crore on Tuesday, and ₹3.25 crore on Wednesday. This brings its total India net collection to ₹124.50 crore, while the India gross stands at ₹147.88 crore. On the global front, the film has performed strongly. After crossing ₹100 crore worldwide within just four days of release, it has nearly doubled that figure. By Day 13, it added ₹0.75 crore from overseas markets, pushing its overseas total to ₹51.50 crore. The overall worldwide gross now stands at ₹199.38 crore, just shy of the ₹200 crore milestone, which it is expected to cross soon. Despite leading the box office, the film faces competition from other releases, including the Michael Jackson biopic Michael and Dhurandhar: The Revenge starring Ranveer Singh. The film marks a reunion between Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan after 16 years and features a supporting cast including Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, and others. Released on April 17, 2026 (with previews on April 16), the film’s box office journey remains strong, with expectations of crossing ₹200 crore worldwide imminently.
