Xi Jinping Hosts Lavish State Dinner for Donald Trump in China

US President Donald Trump has wrapped up his three-day visit to China after holding important discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing. The visit focused mainly on improving relations between the world’s two largest economies and addressing several international issues. During the final day of the visit, Trump toured Beijing’s famous Temple of Heaven alongside Xi Jinping. The historic site visit highlighted the diplomatic and cultural side of the meeting between the two leaders. On Wednesday evening, Xi Jinping hosted a grand state dinner in honor of Trump and the American delegation. The dinner featured several traditional Chinese delicacies, including the famous Beijing roast duck, seafood soup, beef ribs, Kung Pao chicken, lobster balls, scallops, dumplings, vegetables, mushrooms, and bamboo shoots. Desserts included tiramisu, ice cream, fresh fruit, and special shell-shaped pastries. Reports stated that well-cooked meat dishes were specially prepared because of Trump’s food preferences. The dinner was attended by several high-profile American business leaders, including Elon Musk, Tim Cook, Trump’s son Eric Trump, daughter-in-law Lara Trump, and executives from 17 major US companies. Following the bilateral meeting, Trump claimed that Xi Jinping agreed not to provide military equipment to Iran. In an interview with [Fox News], Trump stated that China assured the United States it would not send weapons or military support to Iran. Trump also announced a major business development involving [Boeing]. According to the US President, China has agreed to purchase 200 Boeing aircraft, exceeding the company’s earlier expectation of 150 planes. Trump said the agreement would create thousands of jobs in the United States and strengthen trade ties between the two nations.
