PM Modi Holds Talks with UAE President, Key LPG Deal Finalized
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Abu Dhabi as part of his official visit to the United Arab Emirates, where he received a warm ceremonial welcome. During the visit, PM Modi held an important meeting with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to strengthen bilateral ties between the two nations. One of the key highlights of the meeting was the signing of a major LPG supply agreement between India and the UAE. The deal is expected to support India’s energy security at a time when concerns over fuel supply and rising energy demand continue in the country. Along with the LPG agreement, both countries also signed several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) related to strategic petroleum reserves, defense cooperation, and the development of a ship repair cluster in Vadinar, Gujarat. Reports also stated that UAE Air Force F-16 fighter jets escorted PM Modi’s aircraft as it entered UAE airspace, a gesture seen as a sign of strong friendship and respect between the two countries. During the bilateral talks, PM Modi thanked Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed for the warm welcome and described the UAE as his “second home.” He said the honor shown by the UAE leadership and people was deeply appreciated by India. The discussions between the two leaders focused on strengthening cooperation in areas such as energy security, trade, investment, and regional stability in West Asia. The UAE also announced investments worth $5 billion in Indian infrastructure projects, along with investments in RBL Bank and Sammaan Capital. PM Modi further thanked the UAE President for expressing condolences over the recent natural disaster in Uttar Pradesh. The visit highlighted the growing strategic and economic partnership between India and the UAE, with both countries aiming to deepen cooperation across multiple sectors.
