General Upendra Dwivedi Issues Stern Warning to Pakistan

Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi has delivered a sharp and direct warning to Pakistan, stating that the neighboring country must decide whether it wants to remain “a part of geography or history” if it continues to support terrorism against India. His strong remarks came during the “Uniform Unveiled” and “Army Dialogue” events held at the Manekshaw Centre. Speaking firmly on India’s national security, General Dwivedi said that India is fully prepared to take every necessary step to defend its sovereignty and protect its citizens from cross-border terrorism. His comments are being viewed as one of the strongest public statements made by an Indian Army Chief in recent months regarding Pakistan and terrorism-related activities. During the event, General Dwivedi was asked how the Indian Army would respond if a situation similar to last year’s Operation Sindoor occurred again in the future. In response, he made it clear that India would not hesitate to act decisively against any threat. He warned that if Pakistan repeated past mistakes or continued to shelter terrorist groups operating against India, the consequences would be severe. The Army Chief emphasized that India’s patience toward cross-border terrorism has limits. According to him, the Indian armed forces are now prepared for every possible challenge and will respond strongly to any provocation. His statement reflected India’s increasingly tough stance on terrorism and national security issues. General Dwivedi’s remarks also brought renewed attention to Operation Sindoor, a major Indian military operation carried out against terrorist camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Under the operation, the Indian Army reportedly conducted precision strikes targeting terrorist infrastructure believed to be involved in planning attacks against India. Following India’s action, tensions between India and Pakistan escalated sharply, leading to retaliatory military responses from both sides. The confrontation between the two nuclear-armed neighbors reportedly continued for nearly 88 hours before a ceasefire agreement was reached on May 10. After diplomatic communication and mutual understanding between the two countries, the situation gradually returned to normal. The Army Chief’s latest statement comes as India recently marked the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor. His comments have sparked widespread discussion across political and defense circles, with many viewing the message as a clear signal that India will no longer tolerate terrorist activities originating from across the border.
