The Delhi government has intensified its action against rising air pollution by sealing six illegal factories operating in the Saboli area of the capital. The operation was carried out jointly by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) as part of an ongoing campaign to curb pollution and enforce environmental rules.
According to officials, residents had been complaining for a long time about thick smoke, strong chemical odors, and industrial waste coming from these factories. After receiving multiple complaints, authorities launched a special inspection drive in the area to identify units violating pollution control norms.
Municipal Commissioner Mamta Yadav said that several factories were found operating without proper permissions and were not following environmental safety standards. During the inspection, officials discovered serious irregularities related to waste disposal and pollution management. As a result, immediate action was taken and six factories were sealed on the spot.
To avoid any disturbance during the operation, a heavy police presence was deployed in the area. Authorities ensured that the sealing drive was completed peacefully while maintaining law and order.
The Delhi administration has been taking stricter measures in recent months to control pollution levels in the city. Illegal industrial units are considered one of the major contributors to air pollution, especially in densely populated residential areas where factories often operate without proper licenses or environmental clearances.
Officials from the Municipal Corporation stated that the campaign against illegal and polluting factories will continue in different parts of Delhi. The administration has also appealed to citizens to report any factory or industrial activity in their neighborhoods that may be causing pollution or violating environmental regulations.
The latest action reflects the government’s increasing focus on improving air quality and protecting public health. Authorities believe that public participation and strict enforcement of pollution laws are essential to reducing pollution levels in the national capital.
